On December 8, AmCham Hungary gathered for its Annual General Assembly, a key occasion that brought the AmCham business community together to celebrate the achievements of 2025 and set the course for the year ahead.
In his report, AmCham President Ákos Janza highlighted the development and launch of the new Policy Agenda 2026–2030 as a major milestone. He emphasized that the Policy Agenda provides a shared vision for Hungary’s competitiveness and will guide all of AmCham’s advocacy activities in the coming years. Another highlight of his report was the launch of three new working groups, the Digital, Travel, Tourism & Entertainment, and Education & Innovation Working Groups, marking an important expansion of AmCham’s strategic focus areas.
Secretary Treasurer Ákos Burján, and Supervisory Board Chair Michael Carlson confirmed that the Chamber’s operations remain stable and well-managed. Following their reports, the Assembly elected new Board members and announced the Board for the year ahead.

CEO Írisz Lippai-Nagy shared an outlook for 2026 and touched on key events returning next year, among others the HR Dream Day, the Business Meets Government Summit, and Independence Day.
The Assembly then announced the members of the AmCham Board for 2026: President Ákos Janza (Masterplast), First Vice President Veronika Špaňárová (Citi), Second Vice President László Kónya (Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions Hungary), Secretary Treasurer Ákos Burján (PwC Hungary), and Board Members-at-Large Edit Bencsik (Tata Consultancy Services Hungary), Etelka Dobi (Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine), Gabriella Fodor (Lexmark), dr. Attila Kövesdy (Independent advisor), Dániel Mayer (Morgan Stanley Hungary Analytics), Mónika Pais (Diageo Budapest), and Krisztina Ujhelyi (Medtronic), with Neil Pickett (U.S. Embassy) serving as Ex-officio Member, and Michael Carlson (NSM) and dr. Judit Budai (Szecskay Attorneys at Law) continuing on the Supervisory Board.

AmCham also presented the Dr. Iván Völgyes Award, recognizing individuals who make significant contributions to Hungarian–American business relations. This year’s award went to Vilmos Benkő, a longtime AmCham supporter, Hungarian-American entrepreneur, communication expert, public speaker, coach, philanthropist, and former AmCham President.
