Travel Tourism & Entertainment Working Group

AmCham Hungary is proud to announce the launch of its newest Working Group, dedicated to the Travel, Tourism & Entertainment industry. This initiative brings together key players from the sector to foster collaboration, share best practices, and provide a platform for dialogue on the most pressing challenges and opportunities shaping the industry today.

The primary goal of the Working Group is to facilitate open discussions, knowledge exchange, and networking among industry leaders. Together, members aim to explore ways in which they can contribute to and align with Hungary’s evolving national tourism strategy and discuss topics like talent development within the sector, sustainable operation practices, and the role of tourism in national policy.

The group will be co-chaired by Angela Saliba (Budapest Marriott Hotel) and Márton Vajda (Collectives – Inner City Investments).

Angela is a seasoned hospitality professional with over 30 years of leadership experience across multiple international hotels including The Westin Dragonara Resort and Le Meridien St. Julians in Malta, the Westin Resort Costa Navarino and The Romanos, a Luxury Collection Resort in Greece and Sheraton Grand Krakow and Sheraton Grand Warsaw in Poland. In 2017, Angela was recognized as Marriott GM of the Year for Europe, Core Brands. She was also actively involved in leading the Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia & Baltics Marriott Business Council, comprising 29 Managed and Franchise Hotels. In 2024 Angela was appointed as the Multi- Property General Manager of the Budapest Marriott Hotel and Millennium Court, Marriott Executive Apartments, in Hungary.

Márton has been working in the tourism and hospitality sector for over 20 years, primarily in strategic leadership and brand development roles in Hungary. He is the founder and strategic director of several well-known and highly regarded venues that have become landmarks in Budapest’s culinary and tourism scene, including Mazel Tov, Tereza, Balagan and DiVino Wine Bar (collectives.hu). In 2024, he was honored to be selected among the Top 50 Most Influential Professionals in Hungarian Tourism and Hospitality, a recognition that reaffirmed my commitment to shaping the future of our industry at a broader, community level.

AmCham Hungary looks forward to supporting this dynamic sector with a dedicated platform for cooperation and advocacy.
