At an online Policy Forum held on October 27 - initiated by the AmCham EU Green Deal Committee - Anikó Raisz, State Secretary for Environment Protection and Circular Economy talked to AmCham members about the government’s Circular Economy strategy.
The event was opened by Péter Csucska, member of the AmCham Board, managing director of Kostal Hungary and hosted and moderated by Thomas Narbeshuber, Lead of the AmCham EU Green Deal Committee.
State Secretary Raisz provided a strategic overview of circular water and waste management, the Single Use Plastic directive, the importance of innovation and new technologies and the symptoms of greenwashing. “Waste management should not be seen as waste management, but rather a transition to circular economy” – she added.
While answering questions from the audience, Raisz highlighted that companies should join the Circular Economy Platform, a multistakeholder group, where all members can put ideas forward, which she invites industry players to do, as “we can only go on this road together”.
