Tesco opened its first store in Hungary in 1995. It currently serves 2,5 million customers a week in its 202 stores and is also Hungary's largest private employer. Tesco is committed to serve Hungarian customers a little better every day. The retailer works with 800 Hungarian suppliers to support their growth and exit into export markets.

People Services

From Budapest and across our satellite teams in Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia we deliver Payroll and People Administration Services to Central Europe for nearly 60.000 Tesco colleagues. Our teams work with digital tools and modern equipment to ensure paperless operations and great colleague experience. Our truly international and dynamic team works closely together with offices, stores and distribution centres in four CE countries. 

Buy and Manage

Our Buying Operations team manages invoice queries with suppliers on prices as well as coordinates the supplier induction and data modification processes for the Central European suppliers of Tesco. The team also covers contract administration and margin recovery tasks. They work closely together with different departments of Tesco CE as well as the extensive supplier base of the region. The key objective is to help simplify the buyer’s work in the area of administration to allow them to focus on serving our customers a little better every day.

Internal Helpdesk

When our store colleagues need help, they come to our Colleague Engagement Centre, which serves as an internal technical helpdesk as well as product support. Our team partners with technical resolver teams based all around the world and commercial buyers based in CE to solve requests raised by Tesco colleagues.
