Medtronic - Krisztina Ujhelyi, Capital Strategy Leader
1.Why do you think membership in the American Chamber of Commerce is important for businesses operating in Hungary?
AmCham gives businesses a reliable platform to connect with decision-makers, share practical concerns, and stay informed about the issues shaping the market. Through regular dialogue with public stakeholders, members can better understand the regulatory environment and help influence conditions that support growth, predictability, and competitiveness. The Chamber also provides timely insight into policy, economic, and market developments, which helps companies plan with greater confidence. AmCham strives to be the most effective representative of a growing membership and the business community in Hungary, and a trusted partner in improving Hungary’s competitiveness in the global economy.
2. What motivates you to be an AmCham Board Member?
Since 2020, I have been involved in the AmCham Healthcare Committee and have seen first-hand how constructive cooperation can lead to meaningful results. I am motivated by the opportunity to contribute more directly to that work and to help advance priorities that matter to the business community, including innovation, healthcare, education, and a strong operating environment. Having served as a Board member for the past two years, I have developed a deeper appreciation of the Chamber’s direction, and I would value the chance to continue supporting it with an active, practical approach.
3. Why do you feel you are qualified? What skills do you bring to the position?
My professional background combines leadership experience in healthcare with earlier exposure to the automotive industry, giving me a broad understanding of business realities across sectors. I bring strategic thinking, operational awareness, and a strong ability to work with different stakeholders. I am comfortable leading teams, building partnerships, and helping turn ideas into action. My work style is grounded in facts and evidence, and I value clear, data-based decision-making. These qualities would allow me to contribute constructively to the Board and support AmCham’s mission.
4. How have you been active in AmCham over the course of the last two years?
Over the past two years, I have been actively engaged in the AmCham Healthcare Committee, where I proactively helped shape the strategy, priorities, and direction of the committee’s work. I contributed to key initiatives including the Business Meets Government Forum, the Footprint Study of Life Science Companies, and the one-pager for the Healthcare Committee.
I also supported dialogue with public stakeholders and the development of policy papers on healthcare financing, access to innovation, public-private cooperation, clinical research, and the health data ecosystem. These efforts helped strengthen the committee’s visibility, strategic focus, and impact.
As a Board member, I proactively shaped the strategy of AmCham. I have also participated broadly in AmCham activities, reflecting a strong commitment to the organization and its wider mission.
