Budapest, 26 May 2026 – Wolf Theiss advised Eurus Energy Group, a leading Japan-based group in wind and solar power generation, on its first investment in the Hungarian energy market, providing comprehensive legal counsel on the Baracska PV and BESS hybrid project.
The Baracska PV and BESS hybrid project is a 7.24 MW (DC) solar power plant combined with a 5 MW / 20 MWh battery energy storage system, located in Baracska, Hungary. This investment represents an important step in Eurus Energy Group’s expansion across the CEE region. The project integrates renewable energy generation with advanced battery storage, with the aim of enhancing local grid stability and supporting Hungary’s ongoing energy transition.
Wolf Theiss provided comprehensive legal advice to Eurus Energy throughout the entire lifecycle of the project, from the early greenfield stage acquisition of the project, through to commencing commercial operations of the power plant. The mandate included due diligence of the target company, negotiation of the share purchase agreement as well as structuring the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the development of both the photovoltaic and battery storage facilities. The team also supported the operational phase, including operation and maintenance (O&M) agreements, direct agreements with manufacturers and trading agreements for the sale of electricity and ancillary services. Wolf Theiss' mandate further covered corporate matters related to the continued operation of the project company, including internal project financing.
Drawing on Wolf Theiss’s extensive experience in cross-border energy projects and deep understanding of the Hungarian and wider CEE/SEE legal and regulatory landscape, Eurus Energy successfully completed this strategic investment in Hungary.
“Congratulations to Eurus Energy on this landmark transaction. Our teams collaborated seamlessly throughout the project, reflecting Wolf Theiss’s long-standing track record of advising Japanese businesses on investments and expansion across the CEE and SEE region.
