Wolf Theiss advised DCC plc, the leading international energy sales group, on the acquisition of UGI International LLC's liquid gas businesses in Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, serving a combined total of 12,000 customers.
DCC has nearly 50 years’ experience in the liquid gas sector, holding market leading positions in six countries and expanding into four more including Austria in 2025. Liquid gas remains a priority for DCC’s capital deployment and growth strategy, supporting the transition to lower-carbon energy.
Wolf Theiss coordinated the legal advice provided to DCC during the transaction for Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. This included performing a comprehensive due diligence of the targets, as well as providing customary M&A and regulatory advice covering the three jurisdictions.
The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approval and is expected to complete in Q3 2026.
The Wolf Theiss team was led by Zoltán Faludi (Partner, Energy, Hungary) and Miriam Fuchs (Senior Associate, Corporate/M&A, Hungary). They were further supported by Marietta Molnár (Senior Associate, Employment, Hungary), Tamás Pál (Associate, Energy, Hungary), Virág Lőcsei (Associate, Energy, Hungary), Michal Matouš (Counsel, Corporate/M&A, Czech Republic), Maroš Kandrík (Senior Associate, Corporate/M&A, Czech Republic), Bruno Štefánik (Partner, Corporate/M&A, Slovakia) and Vladimír Šimkovic (Senior Associate, Corporate/M&A, Slovakia).
