AmCham’s BSS Hungary Cooperation brought a sector branding stand to the HVG Job Fair between 5-6 October. Visitors of the job fair could meet various BSC representatives to learn more about the sector and the current opportunities. Throughout the day four roundtable discussions were held, highlighting the key employee value propositions of the sector: employee-focused environment, multicultural & inspirational community, a wide range of career opportunities, and last but not least the above-average remuneration & benefits packages.
How are you? - Wellbeing, employee-focused environment
Colleagues of ExxonMobil, Avis Budget Group, Howden, IBM and Celanese highlighted what makes a company employee-focused, especially in the current environment and what the most popular wellbeing element is in their companies, such as sports groups, music bands and volunteering groups. Companies put an emphasis on providing opportunities to their employees where they can share their passion for their hobbies with your colleagues.
Company culture - Multicultural, inspiration, community
In most business service centers, employees have the opportunity to work flexibly, as success is not measured in minutes, but in the quality of the work done – explained the panel of representatives form BT, Avis Budget Group, Howden, Eaton and Tesco Business Services. They also expressed the significance being open to other cultures, because in the business services sector you need to work together with colleagues from other countries. Non-negligible that most of these companies can provide different platforms to learn and develop your skills, you can learn from your mentors and coworkers.
Demystifying our jobs - Career opportunities and job content
The panel discussion by Randstad, IBM, Albemarle, Corning, AGCO and Citi colleagues addressed a wide target audience such as career changers and university students. They highlighted that if someone is about that change their career path, the business services sector is a good place to start. It is a diverse sector for all ages, from beginners to seniors, with a wide variety of educational and professional backgrounds. Colleagues are able to move horizontally as well as vertically within the company, trying different positions to find the one that suits them the best.
