On September 20, AmCham Hungary held an online webinar where three diplomats of the Permanent Representation of Hungary to the EU, Katalin Czene, Eszter Bársony and Gergő Kottra, gave an overview about the ongoing negotiations and possible implications of the upcoming Digital Services Package, a key cornerstone of the bloc’s European Green Deal Policy.
The three diplomats each talked about of the main components of the proposal. Katalin Czene explained the goals and possible impact of the Digital Services Act. Eszter Bársony gave an overview of the Digital Markets Act and its status in the EU’s legislative process. Gergő Kottra presented the EU’S general approach to data policy, followed by an outline of the Package’s main implications on the AI industry.
The Digital Services Package is the latest in the EU’s efforts at creating a digital space in which sovereignty is respected, and where a set of clear standards govern the use of data, technology, and infrastructure.
