Minister János Csák Envisions Hungary As Top Innovator in Europe

János Csák, Minister of Culture and Innovation was the guest of honor at our Business Forum on September 15 where he outlined his mission to foster innovation, R&D and enterprise development in Hungary to bolster the competitiveness of our country.

Minister Csák began his presentation by introducing the portfolio of his ministry and sharing the values which define his work and mission.

He proceeded to highlight the importance of increasing domestic added value, and fostering innovation and R&D to improve the competitiveness of the country and avoiding the middle-income trap. A key element of the process is the reform of higher education through the restructured university system, efforts to raise the number of researchers, and increased spending to improve rankings and support economic growth.

Furthermore, Minister Csák discussed the education system's important role to support economic needs and vocational training system which is developed in cooperation with various companies.

Prior to the forum, the AmCham board held a closed-door meeting with Minister Csák to learn more about the ministry's work and discuss potential cooperation opportunities.
