The American Chamber of Commerce in Hungary is seeking candidates for the position of a Communications Specialist

ABOUT THE POSITION:

To support our office in Budapest, Hungary, we are seeking a dynamic professional with strong PR, SM and writing skills and English proficiency.

The Communications Specialist will be responsible for the smooth execution of the overall print, online and social media communications strategy of the Chamber. The Communications Specialist role will produce written content for a range of audiences and coordinate editorial projects, and support the communications and design of a range of professional and social events. The CS will also support the Policy Team in communicating different policy achievements and meetings, with additional assigned projects on an ad hoc basis, as part of a small, but strong, effective and professional team.

The Communications Specialist reports to the CEO of the Chamber.  The position does not have direct reports.

Key tasks will include the following:

  • Publications: prepare the Annual report (with editorial support), and online Journal e-magazine
  • Newsletters: prepare and disseminate weekly e-Newsletter, event invitations, quarterly Advocacy Newsletters
  • Website: Oversee the content of the website, upload and manage content
  • Social Media:  Plan, schedule and create content on AmCham’s Linkedin and FB pages
  • Events: prepare PPTs, speeches, manage press, work on the overall design and technical execution of larger conferences, together with the Event Manager

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Has 5+ experience in a communications role (agency, NGO or media background preferable)
  • Has excellent writing skills
  • Is fluent in written and spoken Hungarian and English (Proficiency Exam preferred)
  • Is an experienced MS Office programs user
  • Is an experienced user of LinkedIn and FB
  • Is a real team player
