InterSystems Technology Helps Magyar Máltai Szeretetszolgálat Build a Unified Patient Record Platform

Magyar Máltai Szeretetszolgálat, one of Hungary’s major charitable healthcare and social care organizations, has launched an important digital healthcare initiative to improve data connectivity across care settings and support more coordinated patient care. Working together with Spicy Analytics, the organization has built a unified FHIR-based healthcare data platform powered by InterSystems IRIS for Health.

The solution addresses a common challenge in healthcare: patient information is often fragmented across primary care, specialist, and laboratory systems. By consolidating these data sources into standardized FHIR resources, the platform gives clinicians access to a more complete longitudinal patient view, makes referrals easier to trace, and provides researchers with trusted, structured data.

The first phase of the project transformed 2.77 million source records into more than 1.1 million FHIR resources. This creates a scalable foundation for improved care coordination, telemedicine, analytics, population health management, and future AI-driven innovation.

By combining InterSystems technology with the implementation expertise of Spicy Analytics, the project demonstrates how interoperable healthcare data platforms can turn fragmented information into a strategic asset for both care delivery and innovation.
