In our efforts to advocate for a sustainable, patient-centric and value-based healthcare and to position it as a key pillar of national competitiveness, AmCham’s Healthcare Committee is excited to reveal the follow up to its Cooperation for a Sustainable and Value Based Healthcare 2021 recommendation package, focusing on the regulatory environment of clinical trials, the synergy of public and private healthcare, improving access to healthcare innovations, and the public financing of the sector.
The four supplements, published under the title Healthy Nation, Competitive Country, were written by leading experts of our Healthcare Committee and are now available in Hungarian:
Fast and Transparent Access to Health-giving Innovation
Discusses the role of Health innovation in the healthcare system, identifies breakout points and intervention options to both in the long and short-term.
Models for the Synergy of Public and Private Healthcare
Details the benefits of having a collaborative public and private healthcare system, what is needed for companies to contribute more to the health of their employees, and how occupational medical exams may help screen early for health risks.
Improving the Institutional and Regulatory Environment for Clinical Trials
We recommend several specific changes to existing regulation to quickly improve the institutional and regulatory environment for clinical trials, which would bring quick benefits to a high value-added sector.
Public Financing of Healthcare
Evaluates the current state and sustainability of the Healthcare financing system and various internal and external effects that impact it. It recommends a number of solutions to enhance supply security and more accessible procurement.
The materials were shared with healthcare government policymakers, and we have had the opportunity to discuss the contents with Dr. László Tóth, Deputy State Secretary for the Technical Management of Healthcare on September 28, and are scheduled to meet Dr. Gábor Boér, Deputy State Secretary of Healthcare Financing and Development later this week.
The four topics will also be at the focus of the Healthcare breakout discussion of the upcoming Business Meets Government Summit on October 24.
Should you have any questions about the recommendations, please contact Healthcare Committee Coordinator József Gál.
