On the morning of September 17, AmCham Hungary organized a roundtable discussion with Ákos Kozák, Co-Founder and Managing Director, Egyensúly Gazdaságkutató és Tanácsadó, Áron Varga, Country Director, Aretera, and Samu Märcz, Chief Operating Officer, Director – Public Affairs Practice, Grayling to assess the first 100 days of the TISZA Government. The discussion was moderated by Ákos Janza, President of AmCham Hungary, and opened by Írisz Lippai-Nagy, CEO of AmCham Hungary, and Ákos Burján, Member of the AmCham Board, on behalf of host PwC Hungary.
The conversation focused on the Government’s early economic and policy priorities, the investment climate, business–government relations and the key issues companies should watch in the months ahead.
The discussion highlighted that the first 100 days have largely been about setting direction and building the foundations of the new government’s economic and regulatory approach. Participants pointed to the importance of clear strategy, predictable regulation, constructive engagement with the private sector and effective implementation. The investment environment was discussed in the context of both domestic and external factors, including the role of regulation, state policy and company-level decisions. There was also broad emphasis on the value of early dialogue with businesses and on maintaining a stable operating environment. The experts also noted that productivity improvement will be imperative for economic growth. In general, the wider macroeconomic effects, participants noted, will take more time to assess.
