Erik Slooten, Managing Director and CEO of Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions Hungary received BBJ's prestigious Expat CEO of the Year award.
The BBJ Expat CEO of the Year award is given to the foreign CEO working and living in Hungary, who is considered to have done the most to contribute to the development of the Hungarian economy and its international recognition with their professionalism and dedicated work.
Besides Mr. Slooten, Prabal Datta, Managing Director, Central and Eastern Europe of Tata Consultancy Services, and Daniel Korioth, General Manager of Robert Bosch until August 2021 were shortlisted with the winner selected by a professional jury of five just 30 minutes before the gala. The panel consisted of BBJ CEO Balázs Román, American Chamber of Commerce in Hungary CEO Írisz Lippai-Nagy, HIPA CEO Róbert Ésik, DUIHK President András Sávos, and last yearʼs Expat CEO of the Year Melanie Seymour.
Previous recipients of the award, which has been given every year since 2015, are Melanie Seymour (BlackRock), Taira-Julia Lammi (ABB), Marc de Bastos Eckstein (thyssenkrupp Components Technology Hungary), Joerg Bauer (Tungsram Group), Jost Ernst Lammers (Budapest Airport) and Javier González Pareja (Robert Bosch)
Special recognitions
Certificates of Appreciation were awarded to National Ambulance Service, and Vodafone Hungary for their efforts to help the country fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
Moreover, Nevijo Mance of Jaguar Land Rover Hungary received the HIPA Partnership award
