On July 13, AmCham and The Central Bank (MNB) held a meeting to discuss the Cooperation for a More Competitive and Sustainable Hungary 2022-23 recommendation package, and MNB's Sustainable Balance and Convergence document, and future cooperation possibilities between the two organizations. It was clear from the meeting that our strategic goals are aligned – to further the competitiveness of Hungary – and a number of our recommendations overlap in their general directions. It was agreed that five workshops will be organized in September, in order to better understand each other’s recommendations, and for MNB to have a direct input from the business players to their 144 competitiveness points, which they will re-publish later in 2022 in view of recent economic turmoil.
Meetings were held in the following topics:
- sustainable financing,
- green transition and energy security,
- labour market,
- innovation and digitalization and
- healthcare.
We would like to thank all colleagues from MNB for the meaningful and productive meetings, as well as the following member companies for sharing their expertise at these workshops: Amgen, Arconic, BNP Paribas, Continental Automotive, Doktor24, EIT Health, ExxonMobil, Janssen, KPMG, Medtronic, MOL, PwC, Schneider Electric, Telekom, Vodafone.
