Competitive Workforce PTF members discussed online how we could adjust our priorities to represent the needs of businesses regarding the Hungarian labor force.
Competitive Workforce Policy Task Force’s virtual meeting was held on September 14, 2020 with active participation of PTF members. At the beginning Írisz Lippai-Nagy, CEO of AmCham and Róbert Dobay, Chair of the PTF evaluated what AmCham achieved with the Policy Agendas in the last 5 years and encouraged members to contribute to the preparation of the new Policy Agenda 2021-2025.
For the discussion, the presentation by András Havas, partner in McKinsey on a perspective how the Hungarian economy will likely evolve over the next decade, served as a good basis to presume the direction of AmCham advocacy efforts related to competitive workforce.
Most of the comments highlighted the importance of the role of education in the development of the needed skills and knowledge in the labor market, and how AmCham could make an impact and add value in this process. It was also an important concern how we can better explore the potential of the available workforce.
Members were committed to continue the discussion and collaboration on the future planning of our joint efforts.
