Business Forum with State Secretary for Economic Development and Industry Máté Lóga from the Ministry for National Economy

On March 20, AmCham Hungary organized its first Business Forum of the year, welcoming State Secretary for Economic Development and Industry Máté Lóga from the Ministry for National Economy. The discussion focused on the Ministry’s expanded portfolio following its merger with the Ministry of Finance, as well as its strategic priorities and plans for the year, including macroeconomic insights and economic development strategies.

State Secretary Lóga noted that Hungary’s GDP grew by 0.4% in 2024, with the Ministry projecting growth to approach 3% by the end of 2025.

He outlined the Ministry’s economic policy priorities aimed at boosting economic growth through measures such as supporting the SME sector, enhancing household purchasing power to stimulate consumption, promoting wage convergence, reducing taxes, and advancing the 100 Factory Program to attract new investments.

Regarding inflation, while acknowledging recent increases in inflation and food prices, he emphasized that these are expected to be temporary, with inflation projected to moderate as the year progresses.

The State Secretary also stressed the importance of maintaining strong economic ties with key partners such as the United States and Germany, describing them as essential to Hungary’s sustained growth.
