The event began with a closed-door meeting between the AmCham Board and the Minister, providing an opportunity to discuss key priorities for AmCham and its member companies.

The closed-door meeting was followed by a plenary session. In his opening remarks, AmCham President Ákos Janza highlighted the Chamber’s dialogue with the Ministry of Justice since 2011, emphasizing the importance of transparent regulation and predictable lawmaking for Hungary’s competitiveness.

The Minister’s presentation focused on the Ministry’s priorities and responsibilities, including plans to reduce administrative burdens and regulative hindrances. Topics also included the review and responsibilities of the Supervisory Authority for Regulatory Affairs (SZTFH), alongside legislative plans affecting businesses in competition law, intellectual property protection and bankruptcy proceedings.

The presentation was followed by a lively Q&A session.
