According to the assessment of the prestigious international tax magazine, the International Tax Review, Andersen Adótanácsadó Zrt. was the best performing Hungarian tax advisor in 2024, regaining the title of Hungary Tax Firm of the Year after a break of one year. This is also the first time the company received the Transfer Pricing Firm of the Year award, meaning it collected two of four awards at the world’s most prestigious professional tax forum, the ITR EMEA Tax Awards.
Founded in 1989, the International Tax Review (ITR), one of the world’s leading tax journals, has awarded prizes to Europe’s best tax advisory service companies for the 21st time. A jury of the magazine’s editors and experts ranked the candidates’ performance based on the volume and complexity of the tasks they had completed during the period, the innovative nature of their implementation, and feedback from clients.
ITR performs ranking in a total of four categories: in addition to handing out the Tax Firm of the Year award, it also assesses performance in VAT, transfer pricing, and tax disputes advisory. As previously reported, Andersen was, similarly to last year, shortlisted in all four categories again this year. The firm was recognised with two out of four awards in the strong playing field. It should be noted that it was awarded the Hungary Tax Firm of the Year title in 2021, 2022, and 2023, with one year left out, and this time the company received the Hungary Transfer Pricing Firm of the Year award.
According to Károly Radnai, Managing Partner of Andersen Adótanácsadó Zrt., winning the Hungary Tax Firm of the Year award is the result of true teamwork, requiring all colleagues to each make their contributions.
We did not lose our motivation—on the contrary, it drove us to work even more intensively so we could reclaim the world’s most prestigious international tax award. We have already proven that we are able to provide consistently high-quality work, as we were found to be the best in three consecutive years. Now, we proved that we can persevere and mobilise new energy in competitive situations, making this recognition possibly even more valuable to us, explained Andersen’s Managing Partner.
According to Sándor Hegedüs, Director of Transfer Pricing Advisory at Andersen, the Transfer Pricing Firm of the Year award is the result of years of hard work and conscious development.
Transfer price audits have recently become increasingly expansive and targeted here in Hungary, resulting in strong demand for tax advisory services in the field. Expectations are high. Any wrong decisions and shortcomings can lead to serious consequences, meaning responsibility is also great. That’s why we are especially proud of the fact that ITR recognised our expertise and work based on client feedback, said the tax expert.
The winners were officially announced and the awards were handed over on 18 September at the ITR Tax Awards in London. The photos below depict the ceremonial moments of the Andersen award presentations.
