The Thanksgiving Charity Dinner, one of AmCham’s most cherished annual traditions, returned on November 21. Hosted in partnership with the Budapest Marriott Hotel, the event blended festive celebration with the spirit of giving.
This year’s dinner brought together business partners, friends, and families to celebrate together while also contributing to two important causes. Through their donations, guests supported the Amigos for Children Foundation, which offers companionship and encouragement to hospitalized children through play and language learning. Their generosity also strengthened United Way Hungary’s SmartShop Program, a financial education initiative for primary school children aged 9–12 that incorporates playful, real-life-inspired activities to teach essential skills such as financial awareness, money management, and responsible family budgeting.

To embrace the festive spirit, guests enjoyed a musical performance by the Gypsy JamMal Band and a traditional Thanksgiving meal with turkey, pumpkin pie, and other seasonal favorites. They could also bid in the silent auction and participate in the raffle, with the main prize being return tickets for two to San Francisco courtesy of Turkish Airlines. Children had their own magical experience in the kids’ corner, with music by the Eszter-lánc Fairytale Band and a surprise visit from Santa Claus.
