The Thanksgiving Charity Dinner, one of the most cherished events in our calendar organized together with the Budapest Marriott Hotel, returned on November 20. The event, apart from celebrating a great American tradition, was held with the aim to give back to children in need by supporting the work of the AmCham Foundation and the Regine Sixt Children's Aid Foundation (beneficiary of Marriott Budapest).
Our nearly 300 guests were treated to a fantastic live performance by the Imre Baross Circus Arts School, followed by a special Thanksgiving buffet dinner featuring roasted turkey, mashed potato, pecan, pumpkin pie, and more.
Additionally, we organized engaging activities for the young ones: a children's corner with balloons and face painting in collaboration with ACF (AmCham Foundation), and delightful musical entertainment by the Eszter-lánc Fairytale Band. What is more, although Christmas is still a few weeks away, Santa Claus stopped by for dinner to surprise the children with a little present.
To make the feast even more enjoyable, Diageo provided wonderful cocktails, throughout the evening, and courtesy of Orbico Hungary, adults could enjoy a delicious caffeine boost to stay active into the night, bid in the silent auction, and take part in the raffle draw. Moreover, our guests had the opportunity to capture memorable moments with the SelfieMe photo booth.
The main prize of the raffle was two economy class return tickets to Dubai– generously donated by Wizz Air together with a 3-night stay with breakfast to the Marriott Resort Palm Jumeirah Dubai. Other raffle prizes and silent auction items included fitness and brunch vouchers, cosmetics, LEGO toys, a private health check, and premium drinks.
For the silent auction and the raffle, together, we collected 3,5 M HUF to aid the foundations who help children in need.
