AmCham Hungary – in partnership with the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency - has been organizing the Business Meets Government Summit (BMG), the flagship event of our organization, for more than ten years. 

This conference has become a key platform for connecting investors with policymakers and is a leading advocacy forum in Hungary. It aggregates the expertise of 200+ leaders from top investors, government leaders, think-tanks, and academia.

We come together annually in the Fall since 2015 with the agenda to make Hungary more sustainable and competitive.

TOPICS:

BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT:

With a new government setting a new economic policy direction, what changes can businesses expect in Hungary’s tax, fiscal and investment environment? This breakout will bring together business leaders and policymakers to discuss the government’s new tax policy priorities, the future of sector-specific and extra-profit taxes, GDP growth ambitions and the longer-term outlook for euro adoption. The conversation will also explore the evolving approach to foreign trade and investment policy, including new investment incentive schemes, the future of FDI, and the role of multinational companies in Hungary’s economy. At a time of significant policy transition, the session will provide an opportunity to discuss what these changes could mean for competitiveness, investment decisions and a more predictable business environment.

HEALTHCARE:

The Healthcare Breakout Session will bring together key voices in the field to discuss the most important challenges and opportunities shaping Hungary's healthcare ecosystem. The conversation will be grounded in the findings of AmCham's recently completed Life Science Investment Attractiveness Study, using its insights as a guide for a forward-looking discussion on investment, competitiveness, and the sector's future direction.

WORKFORCE:

The workforce breakout will explore how Hungary can maintain its competitiveness in the EU labor market by ensuring that companies can access the right skills and workforce at the right time. The discussion will examine how employment policy, skills development and investment promotion can be better coordinated to mobilize domestic labor, respond to changing skills needs and strengthen Hungary’s ability to attract and retain highly skilled international talent. The panel will also address current trends and regulatory challenges related to the employment of workers from third countries, including the need for a transparent, predictable and efficient framework where domestic labor shortages persist. Policymakers, business leaders and HR professionals will identify the most critical areas for improvement and consider best practices and innovative workforce policies.

DIGITALIZATION:

How can digitalization become a stronger driver of Hungary’s productivity, investment attractiveness and long-term competitiveness? This breakout will bring together business leaders and policymakers to discuss how companies can accelerate practical, secure and scalable AI adoption, strengthen digital maturity across industries, and successfully navigate the evolving European regulatory environment. The discussion will also explore how policy frameworks, funding and accelerator programs can better support digital transformation, while addressing IT resilience and the need for flexible, future-proof technology strategies.
