At the next online AmCham Policy Forum on October 27, we will explore the current state of the governments circular economy and sustainability goals, with special guest Anikó Raisz, State Secretary for Environment Protection and Circular Economy, Ministry of Technology and Industry.

During her presentation, State Secretary Raisz will discuss sustainability, energy saving, reduction of pollutant emissions and product durability.

Speakers
Anikó Raisz
In 2004, she obtained a law degree from the Faculty of State and Law of the University of Miskolc, followed by a DEA (Master, LLM) and DESE (Droit communautaire) degree from the Center Européen Universitaire (Nancy, France) in 2005. In 2006, she received a diploma in comparative human rights from the Institut International des Droits de l'Homme (Strasbourg, France). In 2009, she obtained a PhD (summa cum laude) degree at the Ferenc Deák Doctoral School of State and Law of the University of Miskolc.

She continued her studies internationally at the University of Münster and Trier in Germany, at the Institut International des Droits de l'Homme and the Center Européen Universitaire in France, and at the Hague Academy of International Law (Netherlands).

During her professional career, she worked as an external legal translator at the Court of Justice of the European Union. Associate Professor of the Department of International and Comparative Law at the European and International Law Institute of the University of Miskolc. She first worked as a consultant and then as a chief consultant in the Cabinet of Ministers of the Ministry of Justice, after which she became the head of the central office of the Mádl Ferenc Comparative Law Institute. From 2019 to 2022, she was the State Secretary for Public Administration at the Ministry of Justice, and is currently the State Secretary responsible for the environment and circular economy at the Ministry of Technology and Industry.

In addition, she is the Hungarian national delegate of the Comité Européen de Droit Rural (CEDR), a member of the public body of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the International Public Law Subcommittee, as well as the former secretary of the MTA-MAB State and Legal Studies Committee. In addition, she is a member of the advisory and editorial boards of Hungarian and international legal journals (Law, Indentity and Values; Central European Journal of Comparative Law; Rivista Quadrimestrale di Diritto dell'Ambiente; Journal P.A. Person and Administration; Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Law; Fontes Iuris; Legal Studies on Central Europe; Studies of the Central European Professors' Network).

She publishes in the fields of human rights, international environmental law and international agricultural law.
She speaks fluent English, German and French. Married, mother of three children.
