As a result of the state waste management concession tender, MOL Group has been entrusted with the collection of nearly 5 million tons of municipal solid waste per year in Hungary for 35 years after 1 July 2023.
Join our upcoming Open Committee Meeting on June 23 where with our guest, Zsolt Pethő, Managing Director of MOHU MOL Waste Management Ltd., we will discuss, among others, how the MOL Group's role in the waste concession will evolve after 1 July and what their plans are regarding waste management.

Zsolt Pethő, Managing Director, MOHU
Zsolt Pethő joined MOL in 1998 and has worked in several key positions at the company since then. Following his responsibilities as Director of PB (propane-butane) Products, he held the positions of Fuel and Heat Products Director and Sales Director for the Southern Region. In July 2006, he was appointed Commercial Director within Product Manufacturing and Trading, a position he held until 2011. From June 2011 to August 2014, he was Director of the Petrochemical Division and CEO of TVK Plc. From October 2012 he was Managing Director of MOL Hungary Downstream and in September 2016 he was appointed Managing Director of MOL Group Trading and Optimization. Between 2018 and June 2021, he was a member of the Board of INA. As of October 2020, until today, he is Director of MOL Circular Economic Services, responsible for the management of the Hungarian waste management concession project. In November 2022 he was appointed also to the position of CEO of MOHU MOL Waste Management Ltd.
