The implementation of the NIS2 Directive has become an increasingly relevant topic for large, multinational companies operating in Hungary. While many organizations already apply advanced cybersecurity standards at group level, NIS2 introduces new local obligations, supervisory expectations, and audit requirements that require focused attention.
In practice, companies are facing challenges in assessing the scope and classification of their Hungarian entities, particularly where cybersecurity governance is managed centrally, while also ensuring audit preparedness. Aligning group-level frameworks with Hungary-specific regulatory, reporting, and audit requirements has proven to be a complex exercise.
This joint meeting of AmCham’s Regulatory Committee and Digital Working Group will provide an overview of the Hungarian implementation of NIS2, including insights into early experiences from large companies, as well as regulatory expectations and compliance challenges.
