Dear HR and Healthcare Committee Members,

We are pleased to invite you to a joint meeting of the HR and Healthcare Committees on April 14 at the AmCham office for an open and interactive discussion on a topic that is both sensitive and increasingly relevant for employers:
Beyond Benefits - How Employers Can Support Employees Facing Serious Health Challenges

During this member-driven session, we will explore questions such as:

  • What role should employers play in what are often considered “private health matters”?
  • What policies or workplace practices truly make a difference for employees facing serious health challenges?
  • What is the impact of such policies on retention, engagement, and employer reputation?
  • Are there examples of flexible work, benefits, reintegration, or management approaches that have proven effective?

There will be no external speakers at this meeting. Instead, the session will be shaped by your experiences, challenges, and best practices.

If there is strong engagement and interest, this discussion could serve as the starting point for a broader AmCham initiative, potentially leading to the development of a practical guide and a campaign encouraging companies to invest in employee health and to implement thoughtful policies and programs for employees living with illness.
