Mr. Márton Nagy is the Minister for Economic Development since May 2022. Previously he was the Chief Advisor of the Prime Minister. Prior to that, he was the Deputy Governor of Monetary Policy and Lending Incentives of the Central Bank of Hungary (MNB) from September 2015 till the end of May 2020. He was a member of the Monetary Council and the Financial Stability Board. He was the Chairman of the Financial Section at the Hungarian Economic Association. He earned his degree in economics at the Corvinus University of Budapest in 1999. Between 1998 and 2000, Mr. Nagy worked as an analyst at the Government Debt Management Agency. He joined the team of MNB in 2002. In 2014, he received the Popovics Sándor Award, the accolade that can be given to emerging and hopeful professionals under the age of forty. Author of numerous research, analyses, and articles. His research and publication areas focus mainly on the pricing of banking products and healthy lending. In his professional publications, he analyses the challenges of the financial system. His professional activity is mainly focused on easing SME’s financing difficulties and the solution to households’ foreign currency issues.
