On the occassion of the capital's 150th anniversary, AmCham invited Mayor Karácsony to a special Business Forum where we discuss his priorities, goals and other relevant topics.

Gergely Karácsony, Mayor of Budapest
Gergely Karácsony (b. 1975) is a green, left-wing politician and co-chair of the Dialouge (Párbeszéd) party. He was elected as Mayor of Budapest on 13 October 2019 as the joint candidate of five Hungarian opposition parties. Between 2014-2019 he served as Mayor of Budapest’s 14th district (Zugló). Prior to that, he was an MP of the LMP (Poltics Can Be Different) party (2010-2013).
Mr. Karácsony is a sociologist by profession, and a former lecturer at Corvinus University of Budapest.
He is married and has two children. He enjoys listening to jazz, going for long bike rides and watching volleyball.
