Dr. Judit Budai, Co-Managing Partner at Szecskay Attorneys at Law
1.Why do you think membership in the American Chamber of Commerce is important for businesses operating in Hungary?
AmCham is an influential business community which is able to convey informed and responsible messages collected from members to impact the political and economic decision makers. Amcham is a good source of knowledge sharing at the highest professional level. Amcham is a friendly community which is able to quickly integrate all interested members and involve them in public advocacy, self-training and business networking for community and self-building. The good thing is that I am an AmCham member via our firm for over 30 years and these values are constant and developing.
2. What motivates you to be an AmCham Supervisory Board Member?
From my long pre-history with AmCham I hope I understand its mission and channels of reach to its members. As an officer I hopefully can better channel and integrate needs and
problems of the community I learn of in Hungary where I work for for over 30 years as a practicing lawyer, particularly in current times of finding ways back to democratic routes and market economy.
3. Why do you feel you are qualified? What skills do you bring to the position?
As a practicing corporate lawyer I experience a lot in professional life what compliance challenges a commercial or NGO organization faces with, therefore based on my work experience I believe I
can add value to the AmCham board’s activities.
4. How have you been active in AmCham over the course of the last two years?
For 10 or more years I am member of the AmCham G&T, now Innovation and Education Committee and participating in its board simulation and start-up and university education programs and other community building programs aiming to bring together large enterprises and universities. During the past 3 years I served as a supervisory board member supporting the AmCham Statute values and the management in board discussions aiming to implement mission and strategy.
