Motivation

Why do you think membership in the American Chamber of Commerce is important for businesses operating in Hungary?

As one of the most influential and trusted business organizations in Hungary, AmCham represents over 300 companies that, despite their diversity, share a common interest: operating in a predictable, strong, and prosperous business environment. Without influence, it is impossible to achieve meaningful results, and without trust, partnerships cannot thrive. AmCham provides the platform for these companies to unite their voices and collaborate on common goals, driving better outcomes. For me, being a member is not a question – it is about how we can elevate this cooperation further. In a world full of challenges, AmCham’s role in maintaining influence and impact is more important than ever.

What motivates you to be an AmCham Board Member?

In the last two years, I have seen how AmCham’s Board is a true enabler of the business community in Hungary. I am proud of being part of the Board and that I have a chance to support AmCham to create a unique and recognizable voice in this domain. AmCham is one of the few remaining channels that is still working effectively and impactfully over and beyond the political boundaries. Being part of the decisions, influencing AmCham stance in our world full of uncertainties is not only a beautiful challenge, but also a responsibility. After my first term on the Board, I’m even more convinced and determined that AmCham can make the difference in the world of constant changes. I want to be part of this next chapter.

Why do you feel you are qualified? What skills do you bring to the position of Board Member?

In my everyday job, I am thinking hard about what risks the future can bring and what can we do to succeed. This is not dissimilar to our challenges at AmCham. I am here to offer my experience of leading a large organization at one of the world’s most complex financial institutions. Complexity, ambiguity, and uncertainty are part of our everyday lives, and throughout my career I learned techniques to handle them in a constructive way. AmCham is a great place where people come together to turn challenges into opportunities, and I want to continue contributing by shaping the strategy of the next years. I’m sure that the next two years will be very different from the last two years, but no one can tell how and what will change exactly. New geopolitical tensions? The knock-in effect of the new technologies? A new pandemic? Or something completely different? We only know that we need to be agile and adaptive if we want to come out stronger from these situations. Leading organizations in the last 10+ years thought me a lot about resiliency, risk taking and adaptability. I would like to bring these values continuously to the Board and work with my colleagues to build AmCham’s next chapter.

How have you been active in AmCham over the course of the last two years?

I have been impressed by AmCham’s ability to distil and represent the interests of its members, and I’ve had the pleasure of influencing decisions as a Board member. Through events like Business Meets Government and various closed-door discussions with senior decision-makers, I have witnessed the tangible impact we can make. The 35th-anniversary gala was a standout moment, showcasing the history, values, and community of AmCham, and how we support each other beyond just business interests. Attending multiple business and networking events showed me the real strength of the organization: connecting people from different businesses and creating one cohesive vision. Working closely with AmCham CEO and staff gave me the confidence that the execution of our strategy is in good hands. If I can stay on the Board, I would like to get closer to workstreams in order to contribute more directly.
