Andersen - Károly Radnai, CEO
1.Why do you think membership in the American Chamber of Commerce is important for businesses operating in Hungary?
Businesses share common challenges and can act together much more efficiently than by trying to solve their issues on their own. Many companies face regulatory hurdles or external economic crises that emerge regardless of how the business is managed, making it difficult to respond effectively on their own. By joining AmCham, sharing experiences, and offering help to others, corporations can effectively improve their business success. AmCham is also an excellent platform to track and follow business and regulatory developments, and to gain access to decision-makers at government bodies for discussion and consultation.
2.What motivates you to be an AmCham Board Member?
I have been Andersen's delegated member on the tax committee for 9 years, and I also had the privilege of chairing the work of the tax committee for 6 years until my mandate ended about a year ago. I thoroughly enjoyed the work and collaboration with my fellow tax colleagues and feel that I contributed significantly to its success. It was a very fruitful 6 years from a professional point of view, featuring numerous events, meetings with government officials (both Hungarian and US), and studies or proposals aimed at enhancing tax competitiveness. I would like to carry on and contribute this energy and experience to the work of the AmCham Board.
3.Why do you feel you are qualified? What skills do you bring to the position?
Throughout my 6 years as the chairperson of the tax committee, and also as a patron member of AmCham, I have had the chance to closely follow the Chamber's work. I personally coordinated the preparation and annual update of the tax section of the AmCham Competitiveness Report and have regularly maintained contact with many of the board members. Therefore, I am convinced that I understand the expectations set and feel fully prepared to fulfill this position.
4.How have you been active in AmCham over the course of the last two years?
I have regularly attended events organized by AmCham, including patron dinners, and I have remained an active member of the tax committee even after stepping down from the chairperson position.
