Meeting with European Commissioner Dr. Tibor Navracsics
- May 10, 2019
The Hungarian Pact4Youth initiative – in line with the European initiative – aims to foster and facilitate the integration of young people, especially the NEET youth (who are Neither in Employment nor in Education or Training) into the education system and into the labour market while improving their labour conditions. According to CSR Europe, there are more than 7 million NEET young people between age 15-24 in Europe.
Members of the Hungarian Pact4Youth initiative invited EU Commissioner Tibor Navracsics to their last meeting to discuss the results of the Intern 2.0. preparatory surveys, forums and the next steps. H.E. René Van Hell, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Hungary also participated at the meeting.
Members of the initiative discussed their project idea - the Intern 2.0 project - which would tackle the problem of the NEET youth (young people who are Neither in Employment nor in Education or Training) in Hungary. The project focuses on making internships more attractive, valuable and fair for young people to help their transition into the labour market.
Members of the Pact4Youth initiative also decided to establish an organization to provide a formal framework for their cooperation, therefore 10 particiipants started the process of founding an official association. The organizations working in the Pact4Youth working group will hopefully become strategic partners of the organization.
