Tax Committee Meeting PM (11)

Exclusive Tax Committee Meeting with Deputy State Secretary Besesek, Ministry of Finance

  • July 02, 2020
On June 26, 2020, AmCham Tax Committee Lead Károly Radnai, President Farkas Bársony, CEO Irisz Lippai-Nagy, and some of our experts from the Tax Committee met with Deputy State Secretary Botond Besesek and his colleagues in the Ministry of Finance.

After weeks of online consultations due to COVID-19, we welcomed the opportunity of a face-to-face meeting with the ministry’s decisionmakers again. We expressed our thanks that many recommendations submitted by AmCham during the economic lockdown were accepted and governmental measures were taken accordingly.

We exchanged views on the latest and prospective governmental actions regarding taxation and made further suggestions on issues related to the local tax (hipa), e-invoicing, accrued loss, non-realized foreign exchange gains and others.

Regular meetings between AmCham and the Ministry of Finance provide excellent opportunities for progress and to gain a mutual understanding of key issues. All participants agreed to continue working together in order to improve the business environment and our country’s competitiveness through developing business-friendly tax rules and legislation, especially in the face of uncertainty caused by the pandemic.
