Information on Running for a Board Position

This letter below from Andrea Jádi Németh, Chair of the Elections Committee, contains all you need to know about how to run for a Board position or nominate another member of the Chamber.

“Dear AmCham Member,

Following the By-Laws of AmCham, Chapter 3. Article 3.13.3., I am writing to you in my capacity as the Chairperson of the AmCham Elections Committee.

The Annual General Assembly (AGA) and the Board elections will take place at 3 to 6 p.m. on December 7 (Thursday), 2017 at the Budapest Marriott Hotel followed by a cocktail reception.
I am pleased to inform you that this year we are electing new AmCham Board members on the AGA again. This year’s open positions are: First Vice President, Secretary Treasurer and two Board Members-at-large positions for a 2-year period.

If you are interested in running for a Board position, please note that the deadline for submission to the AmCham Office, including an expression of interest and other related nomination materials (see in the enclosed Elections Rules) is 2 p.m. local time on Monday, November 6, 2017.

If you have any question regarding the nominations, please contact me (e-mail: andrea.jadi-nemeth@bpv-jadi.com) or Ildikó Bryják at the AmCham Office at +36-1-428-2088 or at elections@amcham.hu.

In order to make a valid nomination you have to follow the Elections Rules for 2017. Please note that there will be no absentee voting; all votes must be cast in the room where the AGA takes place. Therefore it is essential that you attend the AGA, or assign to an individual a proxy to attend and vote on your behalf (proxies must be presented and approved by AmCham in advance).

Please note that in the interest of fairness to all nominees, the Monday, November 6, 2017 (2 p.m., local time) deadline is a firm deadline that will not be extended. Please refer to the attachments for details regarding the submission of your nomination. According to the Constitution and By-Laws of AmCham, nominations from the floor are not possible at the General Assembly. If you want to run for a position or nominate someone, please follow the procedure attached.

In November, you will receive the Elections Brochure 2017 and the candidates’ materials will be available also at the AmCham website at http://www.amcham.hu/Annual General Assembly and Board Elections 2017.

I strongly encourage all AmCham members to participate in the election process. Thank you for your attention to this important matter.

Sincerely yours,

Andrea Jádi Németh
Chairperson
AmCham Elections Committee”
