AmCham represented at AFS Global Conference

  • October 02, 2018
Dr. Andrea Juhos, Chair of AmCham’s Competitive Workforce Policy Task Force represented AmCham Hungary at the AFS Global Conference on 28th of September, talking about AmCham’s education-related initiatives.

AmCham was an official Content Partner of the Conference, which brought together leaders across sectors (educators, policymakers, business leaders, social entrepreneurs and NGOs) to set a global competence agenda for preparing students, educators, volunteers and employees with the intercultural knowledge, skills and understanding needed to create a more just and peaceful world.

The conference addressed the following global challenges and opportunities:

  • Defining global competence as an essential 21st century skill
  • Strategies, funding and frameworks required to empower primary and secondary teachers
  • Best practices to foster global competence in higher education, NGOs and as part of professional development training
  • Aligning stakeholders from all sectors to meet the growing demand for global competence.

"It was a privilege to introduce the wide-scale educational programs AmCham Hungary has initiated over the years. The point I was making was that since we live in an interconnected world, the cooperation among businesses and the academia brings tremendous benefits to both and it also provides an opportunity for everyone associated with AmCham to make a difference in the lives of young Hungarians." - Dr. Andrea Juhos, Chair of the Competitive Workforce Policy Task Force
