AmCham regular quarterly meeting with State Secretary István Lepsényi

The Ministry for National Economy and AmCham established a Strategic Working Group to ensure more progressive and structured consultation between the two organizations. István Lepsényi, Secretary of State for Economic Regulation and other Ministry representatives met the AmCham delegation on April 29, 2016, following up on the kick-off meeting held on December 9, 2015.

After welcoming words, State Secretary István Lepsényi shared priorities and key target goals of the Irinyi-plan, the strategic plan for innovative industry development recently published by the government. Then, AmCham president Ferenc Pongrácz, first-vice president Márk Hetényi, secretary treasurer Csaba László, and Electronic Manufacturers’ Committee Chair László Ábrahám highlighted key messages from AmCham’s "Cooperation for a more competitive Hungary" strategic working plan that was shared with the government in February 2016. The Chamber received professional and detailed feedback on its suggestions and had an open discussion on a number of issues in the field of education, labour market, tax and regulations.

 The meeting concluded with a sector-specific dicussion, where the Ministry introduced its agenda in the healthcare industry, then Judit Zolnay and Csaba Szokodi co-leaders of AmCham’s Healthy Nation Policy Task Force had the opportunity to share key messages of the Policy Task Force.  

 Prior to meeting State Secretary Lepsényi, the AmCham delegation also had a chance to discuss the 19 recommendations of the "Cooperation for a more competitive Hungary" working plan with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó on April 19, 2016.
