In January, AmCham Hungary hosted a high-level delegation from Indiana to learn more about their economic ties to Europe and the latest pro-business developments in the Hoosier State.

Jim Schellinger, Secretary of Commerce for the state of Indiana, Andrea Richter, senior advisor to the Secretary for International Engagement, Jake Miller, Director of Field Operations for the Indiana Secretary of Commerce from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, and Jan Cristoph Wiedemann, Director of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation's US State of Indiana, European Office formed the delegation from the U.S.

A number of businesses founded in Indiana already have bases in Hungary such as Koch Enterprises, Allison Transmission and Remy Inc and the economic relations between Hungary and Indiana are expanding dynamically. In June 2017, Eric Holcomb, Governor of Indiana and Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade signed a memorandum of understanding to focus on strengthening business ties. Indiana is the first U.S. state to make a formal agreement with Hungary.
