Corporate Governance Considerations for Non-listed Companies
Lessons for Practice, Research and Education
Unlisted companies are the engines of a strong economy and as such make major contributions to economic growth in Europe. Yet the corporate governance needs of these companies are hardly addressed by independent bodies, policy makers and also are not on the radar screen of researchers. Fortunately the European Confederation of Directors Associations (ecoDa) published earlier this year the “Corporate Governance Principles and Guidelines for Unlisted Companies in Europe”. The 5th Corporate Governance Workshop will introduce this publication and its Hungarian translation and also will deal on a broader scale with several of the major issues addressed in this document. The aim of the Workshop is to provide practitioners, as well as researchers and educators, with ideas of where and how unlisted companies could and should improve their governance structure and thereby become more competitive and responsive to the economic and financial challenges.
