Don’t let them down!
Richárd Horváth, 10-year-old child from Vámoscsalád, gets up at 6 a.m. every day, and is already standing at the village bus stop at 7 a.m. to be at the Répcelak school on time, no matter the rain, snow, wind or cold. Ricsi has an outstanding talent in a rare combination – in the fields of mathematics and drawing. There is no question that he would have gone astray without the help of Móra Ferenc Művészeti Iskola Alapítvány. At this very moment, however, Ricsi depends on your support to leave the poverty that surrounds him behind, and excel in his talents.
Dr. Molnár Károlyné (Tudor Alapítvány) has been ceaselessly visiting families in and around Szombathely for 10 years, meeting youth living under atrocious circumstances. During this period, she has helped hundreds of astonishingly talented children gather knowledge, which their more fortunate peers typically gain through private courses. They will only be able to study IT or foreign languages with your help, and be given the opportunity to rise above their current circumstances.
They can only move forward with our help!

The received tenders were evaluated by an external expert committee (teacher, journalist, social volunteer). On the basis of their recommendation, the Advisory Board of AmCham Foundation – in accordance with the Board of AmCham – chose the following three institutes to support:

Tudor Alapítvány Szombathelyi Műhelye – Szombathely (32 Person) (Tudor Foundation – Szombathely Workshop)
18 pupils visit the workshop, from second to seventh grade. With the requested financial support they could ensure the education of more talented children. The workshops are held in small groups with 5-6 pupils, or tailor-made for one pupil. The backbone of the activity is the teaching of two foreign languages (English and German) and IT. Foreign languages are taught by native speaking teachers. As part of the program, children are prepared for high school and further improved at their own field. Without our support the program may be cancelled. -
Mérték Egyesület – Vasvár (100 Person) (Mérték Association)
The Vasvár sub-region is a multiply disadvantaged region of the country. It is purposefully important to find children who could later be involved in the development of the region. In cases where there is financial and intellectual investment into their creativity and respective futures, they could become appreciated and visionary members of their local communities. Their only chance for vacation is the summer camp organized two times for 6 days for talented kids. -
Móra Ferenc Általános Iskola és Alapfokú Művészetoktatási Intézmény – Répcelak (40 Person) (Móra Ferenc Primary School and Basic Institute for Teaching Arts)
The school organizes programs for supporting the teaching material related to Hungarian language and literature, math, drawing and visual culture, which enable the improvement of emotional intelligence; advance creativity, and fine motor skills. Their purpose is to also improve the underdeveloped personality traits of the children visiting their talent groups. Some of them are introverted, they won’t open up, it is hard to get them to reveal their thoughts, while some of them are impatient and do not comply with behavioral rules. The workshops, belonging to the field of experience pedagogy, mean especially important motivation for socially disadvantaged kids.
All of the three institutes have been operating for years, and their results confirm the soundness of their applied method. Without our support, their long-term operability cannot be ensured.
AmCham launches its Charity Drive on the occasion of Thanksgiving, when it traditionally collects and gives donations to the poor. Thanksgiving is a noble occasion to declare our solidarity and responsibility towards the fate of those who need help and support in Hungary.
The financial and material donation surpassing more millions of Forint was one of our most successful charity drive. We would like to express our grateful acknowledgement for the generous donation and support of our members. We hope that with extensive cooperation, we can provide similarly significant support for the chosen institutes and the children under their responsibility, as in the past years.

NE HAGYJUK ŐKET ELKALLÓDNI!
Horváth Richárd 10 éves, vámoscsaládi lakos minden nap 6-kor kel, 7-kor már a falu buszmegállójában áll, hóban-fagyban, hogy időben beérjen a répcelaki iskolába. Ricsi ritka tehetség, furcsa kombinációban, a matek és a rajz területén. Nem kérdés, hogy a Móra Ferenc Művészeti iskola Alapítványa nélkül már rég elkallódott volna. Viszont jelen pillanatban csak az Ön támogatásán múlik, hogy Ricsi tudásának köszönhetően kiemelkedjen abból a nehéz anyagi körülményből, ahol él.

Ez idő alatt több száz csillogóan tehetséges gyermeket segített ahhoz, hogy megszerezzék mindazokat az ismereteket, amelyek a szerencsés kortársaik fizetett külön órákon sajátítanak el. Ők csak az Ön támogatásával tanulhatnak informatikát, vagy idegen nyelvet, amely kiemeli őket jelen helyzetükből.

Az AmCham Alapítvány idén is útjára indította Hálaadás napi Jótékonysági Gyűjtési programját, azzal a célkitűzéssel, hogy az előző évekhez hasonlóan, most is a segítségére siessen sok Magyarországon élő, nehéz sorsú gyermeknek. A 2011-ben meghirdetett pályázatával magukra a gyermekekre szeretné felhívni a figyelmet, és arra kéri a Kereskedelmi Kamara tagjait, hogy támogatásukkal adjanak esélyt azoknak a hátrányos helyzetű, de tehetséges gyermekeknek, akik szociális helyzetük miatt nem tudnak lépést tartani társaikkal. A beérkezett pályázatokat külső szakértő bizottság bírálta (pedagógus, újságíró, szociális területen végzett önkéntes).
Javaslatuk alapján az AmCham Alapítvány Kuratóriuma - összhangban az AmCham Igazgatótanácsával - a következő 3 intézményt választotta ki támogatásra:

Tudor Alapítvány Szombathelyi Műhelye – Szombathely (32 fő)
A műhelybe jelenleg 18-an járnak, másodikosoktól, hetedikesekig. A kért támogatással a következő két tanévre biztosítanák újabb gyermekek tehetséggondozását. A foglalkozásokat 5-6 fős kiscsoportokban, illetve egyénre szabottan tartják. A tevékenység gerincét két idegen nyelv (angol és német) tanulása és az informatikai foglalkozások alkotják. Az idegen nyelveket anyanyelvi tanároktól tanulják. A program része a középiskolára való felkészítés és az egyéni tehetségterületek fejlesztése. Támogatásunk nélkül veszélybe kerül a program folytatása. -
Mérték Egyesület – Vasvár (100 fő)
A vasvári kistérség halmozottan hátrányos helyzetű vidéke az országnak. Nagyon fontos, hogy a térség felemelkedésében később szerepet vállalni tudó gyermekek ne vesszenek el. Az ő jövőbeni munkájukba és kreativitásukba történő szellemi befektetés eredményeként a helyi közösség megbecsült és iránymutató tagjai lehetnek. A számukra szervezett nyári 2x6 napos tehetséggondozó tábor, egyben az egyetlen nyaralási lehetőségük is. -
Móra Ferenc Általános Iskola és Alapfokú Művészetoktatási Intézmény – Répcelak (40 fő)
Az iskola a magyar nyelv és irodalom, a matematika, valamint a rajz és vizuális kultúra tananyagának támogatására szerveznek olyan programokat, amelyek a drámajáték eszközeivel az érzelmi intelligencia fejlesztését teszik lehetővé, illetve a kreativitást, az alkotói tevékenységet, a finom-motorikus képességeket támogatják. Céljuk, hogy a tehetséggondozó csoportokba járó gyermekek személyiségének azt az oldalát is fejlesszék, mellyel nehézségeik vannak. Sokan közülük zárkózottak, nehezen nyílnak meg, mondják el gondolataikat, mások türelmetlenek, nem tarják be a viselkedési szabályokat. A szociálisan hátrányos helyzetű gyerekek számára különösen jelentős motiváló erőt jelentenek ezek az élménypedagógia körébe tartozó foglalkozások.
Mind a három intézmény több éve működik, eredményeik alátámasztották alkalmazott módszerük helyességét. Segítségünk nélkül nem biztosítható, hogy hosszútávon is működőképesek legyenek.
Hálaadás Napja alkalmából, az AmCham, hagyományai alapján jótékonysági adományokat gyűjt és ad át a rászorulóknak. A Hálaadás ünnepe megfelelő alkalom arra, hogy kinyilvánítsuk szolidaritásunkat és felelősségérzetünket azoknak a sorsa iránt, akik segítségre és támogatásra szorulnak Magyarországon.
A tavalyi évben összegyűjtött több millió forintot meghaladó értékű pénz és tárgyi adomány az eddigi legnagyobb sikerrel zárult jótékonysági akciónk volt. Hálásan köszönjük tagjaink nagylelkű felajánlásait, támogatását. Reményeink szerint egy széleskörű összefogással, az előző évekhez hasonlóan jelentős segítséget tudunk nyújtani az idei évben kiválasztott intézményeknek és a gondjaikra bízott gyermekeknek.

A Day to Make it Happen in Devecser
In October the red-sludge severely damaged several buildings, so the AmCham Foundation raised 6.8 million HUF to build new playgrounds and a gym for the primary schools in Devecser and Kolontár. In our volunteer’s day together with member companies (Provident Pénzügyi Zrt., Persecutor Vagyonvédelmi Kft., Manpower, LEG Magyarország Zrt.), local teachers and AmCham staff, the approximately 60 participants painted fences, doors and did gardening.
The AmCham Foundation would like to say thank you and express its appreciation to the participating companies, especially Provident Pénzügyi Zrt., who delegated the highest number of volunteers, and also Persecutor Vagyonvédelmi Kft. , Manpower and LEG Magyarország Zrt. ACF also thanks Pannon Lapok Társasága Kiadói Kft. and Mallbeck Consulting for the communications support!

This happened in 2010
On behalf of the 10-year-old AmCham Foundation let us thank you for your help in 2010 and give you a short summary of the Foundation’s activity.
The AmCham Foundation has been working in its current form since 2001 and has distributed nearly 270 Million HUF in donations among children’s institutions in need so far. Over 60 kindergartens and children’s homes are still in operation and are able to provide healthy living conditions to children in need thanks to your donations.
With the aid of AmCham members, many institutions now have beds, clothes, shoes, nurseries were established helping mothers to go to work. The Foundation even equipped a kindergarten with a salt room for the everyday care of children with respiratory diseases.
